A lower rate indicates that a school accepts a smaller percentage of applicants during its admissions process.
A higher out-of-pocket cost for Scholarship recipients indicates the college may cost more to attend. This figure only includes eligible costs covered by the Scholarship.

Claflin University is the oldest historically Black university in South Carolina. It’s ranked among the top 10 HBCUs in the country, and the university is committed to inclusion and innovation.
Campus Setting
The university is in Orangeburg, which is about 40 miles south of Columbia. Claflin students, faculty and staff come from 43 countries.
