The Meeting Street Scholarship gave Evelyn the opportunity to reach her academic dreams.

 

A total of $10.3 million has been paid to students across South Carolina to date, with 60 percent of students having their bills fully covered.

How Far We’ve Come

  • February 2021

    The Meeting Street Scholarship application opens to 2021 graduates of Charleston County.

  • July 2021

    The inaugural class of 94 scholars is announced in Charleston County.

  • November 2021

    The Darla Moore Foundation partners with the Meeting Street Scholarship Fund to expand the scholarship to eight Pee Dee Counties.

  • July 2022

    An additional 184 scholars are announced in Charleston County and the Pee Dee Region.

  • November 2022

    The Meeting Street Scholarship expands to Barnwell County with the support of visionary donors.

  • January 2023

    The Meeting Street Scholarship expands to Jasper County with the support of Dave Proctor.

  • July 2023

    An additional 274 scholars are announced across 11 counties.

  • August 2023

    The Meeting Street Scholarship Fund announces Mission 46, the trailblazing campaign to expand to all of the state's 46 counties.

  • November 2023

    The Meeting Street Scholarship Fund expands to Allendale County with the support of Jessica and Todd Aaron.

  • August 2024

    An additional 396 new recipients are announced across 12 counties, the largest cohort in the Fund’s history.

  • November 2024

    The Meeting Street Scholarship Fund expands to Spartanburg County with the support of Susu and George Dean Johnson, Jr.
