Scholarship selects 15 Campus Leaders

The Meeting Street Scholarship Fund has selected 15 of its top recipients to be Campus Leaders for the 2026-27 school year.
The Campus Leader program develops current scholarship recipients into confident, career-ready leaders while supporting the conditions that improve first-to-second year retention among incoming scholars. Campus leaders take on real ownership—planning events, building community, and tracking outcomes of first-year recipients.
“Being a first-gen student, I know how hard it is to try and navigate college on your own, while also trying to find resources and clubs that will be beneficial for you and your college experience,” said Naila Garcia-Williams, campus leader at the University of South Carolina -Columbia. “Being chosen to be a campus leader is a complete blessing because I can be that mentor and a friend to incoming students who have questions regarding organizations, scholarships, and balancing academics, social life, and a job,”
The Campus Leader program is available at six colleges that enroll the largest number of recipients: Claflin, Clemson, College of Charleston, University of South Carolina – Columbia, Winthrop and Wofford.
