Honoring the legacy of Doug Buckminster

Doug Buckminster, who recently retired as vice chairman after an impactful career at American Express, supported the Scholarship and helped it expand to Bamberg County.

We are grateful that the Buckminster family has donated $1 million to establish the Doug Buckminster Memorial Fund, which will help continue to make college possible for hard-working students.

We invite those who wish to remember Doug to make a memorial gift to the Meeting Street Scholarship, which provides up to $40,000 for college to high-achieving, under-resourced South Carolina students.

One hundred percent of every gift in Doug’s memory will go directly to student scholarships, helping expand college access and opportunities for students across the state.
